The Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's legendary rock musical GODSPELL will launch its first national tour in the 2013-2014 theater season.
With exclusive tour booking by The Booking Group (www.thebookinggroup.com), the national tour of GODSPELL will again feature direction by Daniel Goldstein and choreography by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific).
"When I first announced that I was producing GODSPELL on Broadway, the emails started pouring in, asking me if I'd be taking it out on the road," said Ken Davenport. "And, well, to quote our source material: 'Ask and ye shall receive.' The joy in Daniel Goldstein's production is infectious. And I can't wait to spread it all around the country starting next year!"
Now playing on Broadway at the Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th St., NYC. High School Musical star Corbin Bleu will return to Broadway as Jesus beginning tonight. He replaces Hunter Parrish (seen in Showtime TV's "Weeds.")
Conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, GODSPELL originally ran for more than 2,600 performances in New York and spawned successful touring productions in major U.S. cities, a 1973 motion picture adaptation and countless international engagements for the past 40 years.
TICKETING AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
GODSPELL plays at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th St.). The regular weekly performance schedule is as follows:
Tuesday evenings at 8 pm (*New Time*)
Wednesday matinees at 2:30 pm.
Thursday and Friday evenings at 8 pm.
Saturdays at 2:30 pm and 8 pm.
Sundays at 2:30 m. and 7:30 pm.
